Openpay may establish a pre-authorisation on your nominated card before you create a plan. This holds the payment amount temporarily – once the plan is created, this pre-authorisation is converted towards your initial payment.
If the purchase is not completed, the pre-authorisation may not be removed instantly by the banks. Don’t worry – this held amount is usually returned to your card within a few days!
If you’d like to have the held funds returned sooner, please contact your bank and request for 1) a Pre Authorisation Reference Number associated with the transaction, and 2) your bank's relevant email address. We will then be able to contact your bank to request the release of funds.
