If you require more than your current available spending limit, there are two options available to you:
-
You may increase your spending limit by completing plans over time. This will gradually increase your limit up to a certain point as you continue to finish those plans with healthy repayment history.
-
You also have the option of applying for a higher amount by pressing Get Pre-Approved for more on the Openpay App or by attempting a purchase outside your available limit.
Please note: Applying for a higher spending limit this way will require a credit check. In some instances, further payment history may be required with Openpay first before being eligible for an increased spending limit.
Our team will review the application, and if you have been pre-approved, you will soon receive a confirmation email with the details of your new limit.
Pre-Approval FAQs:
Will applying for a higher limit require a credit check?
Applying for a higher spending limit may require a credit check. In some instances, further payment history with Openpay may be required before you are eligible for an increased spending limit.
I have been approved for a higher limit, but the new amount is not showing on my app.
Your pre-approval is a spending limit approved for a specific merchant. The limit displayed on your Openpay app is your universal spending limit and can be used at any retailer that accepts Openpay. Our system will detect your pre-approval for a specific merchant and apply it to your account at checkout.
I applied for a higher limit with a merchant and was approved but the confirmation email says it was for the same merchant in a different suburb. Do I need to re-apply?
If you have been pre-approved for a specific merchant, you can use that at any of their store locations, regardless of suburb. You would only be required to re-apply if you want to use your higher limit at another merchant.
Why have I been declined?
As per the Openpay lending policy, our Credit and Risk department review various factors when making credit assessments. If you would like to query your declined application for a higher limit, please contact us here.
